One Thing I Wish I Knew When I Started Preaching the Gospel…

The enemy WILL attack to destroy your ministry and call.

Ephesians 6:12: ‘For our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms’

When we see the broken rescued, the hurting healed, and the lost saved, we must remember the one from whom we are stealing. The enemy hates and detests Christians, yet alone evangelists, and he has come to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10).

You can be certain that Satan views the evangelist as a personal enemy. We will come under attack as we are a great threat. I wonder how much we cover ourselves, our families and our ministry in prayer. How much we declare the name of Jesus over all that we do. How much we resist the enemy and fight with weapons that are not of this world. This is a battle and we must stay on the offensive when it comes to spiritual warfare.

Sadly, I learnt this lesson in my early years of ministry the hard way, but praise God, I also have also discovered that God’s grace is sufficient for me and his power is made perfect in weakness. So BE ALERT, for the enemy prowls around waiting for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8), and stay strong in the truth that He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world/ you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.

Keep fighting. Keep going. Never give up!
