Directions to Lancaster House
Approaching South Manchester from outside the Manchester area:
If you are approaching Manchester from the North or West, we would suggest joining the motorway network and travelling round the M60 from the west (anti-clockwise), exiting at Junction 5 towards the airport and the M56. Follow the directions at 1) below.
If you are approaching Manchester from the East, we would suggest joining the M60 and follow the airport signs onto the M56. Follow the directions at 2) below.
If you are approaching Manchester from the South, we would suggest either using the M6/M56 route, following directions at 3) below, or using the A34 and following the instructions at 4) below.
Detailed directions for finding Lancaster House
1) From the North or West of Manchester
Travelling on the M60 from the West (anti-clockwise), exit at Junction 5 onto the A5103 (following the signs for the airport and the M56 – Chester). Bear left to A560 – Sharston/Altrincham/Baguley – and left at the roundabout towards Sharston. You should pass the Open University building on your right. At the next roundabout take first exit left into Sharston Road B5168 (Sharston Industrial Area). After passing over the railway bridge (Beta Court and Manchester Rusk Co. on right) turn right into Harper Road. Lancaster House is the pale brick building approx. 400m down Harper Road on your right (just after City Electrical Factors).
2) From the East of Manchester
Travelling on the M60 from the East (clockwise), exit at Junction 4 onto the M56 (following the signs for the airport and Chester/Birmingham). At Junction 2 take the A560 – Altrincham/ Wythenshawe. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit into Sharston Road B5168 (Sharston Industrial Area). After passing over the railway bridge (Beta Court and Manchester Rusk Co. on right) turn right into Harper Road. Lancaster House is the pale brick building approx. 400m down Harper Road on your right (just after City Electrical Factors).
3) From the South of Manchester
Travelling from the M6/M56 route leave the M56 at Junction 3A – A560 (Altrincham/ Wythenshawe/ Cheadle). At the roundabout turn right (3rd exit). At the next roundabout take the first exit. At the final roundabout take the first exit again, bearing left onto Sharston Road B5168 (Sharston Industrial Area). After passing over the railway bridge (Beta Court and Manchester Rusk Co. on your right) turn right into Harper Road. Lancaster House is the pale brick building approx. 400m down Harper Road on your right (just after City Electrical Factors).
4) From the South of Manchester
Approaching Manchester on the A34, stay on the dual carriageway past John Lewis’s and Sainsbury’s at Cheadle Royal; you should soon approach a set of traffic lights at Gatley (signposted M60). Turn left at these lights onto the A560. Stay on the A560 under the railway bridge, through Gatley village, straight on through the traffic lights at the B5166. At the next traffic lights (T-junction) bear right continuing on the A560. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Sharston Road B5168 (Sharston Industrial Area). After passing over the railway bridge (Beta Court and Manchester Rusk Co on your right) turn right into Harper Road. Lancaster House is the pale brick building approx. 400m down Harper Road on your right (just after City Electrical Factors).
5) From the City Centre
Head out of the city on the A5103 Princess Road through Hulme, Moss Side and West Didsbury. Pass the M60 junction and stay on the A5103 which becomes Princess Parkway. Bear left to A560 – Sharston/Altrincham/Baguley – and left at the roundabout towards Sharston. You should pass the Open University building on your right. At the next roundabout take first exit left into Sharston Road B5168 (Sharston Industrial Area). After passing over the railway bridge (Beta Court and Manchester Rusk Co. on right) turn right into Harper Road.
