Prayer is absolutely central to our work here at The Message. We couldn’t do anything without it.
We make a priority of prayer as a staff with daily half-hour and a full day of prayer once a month.
We also publish a bi-monthly Prayer Letter free to anyone who requests it. Request it here.

July 2010
1. The new 10-month Genetik course is going to be packed full of new material and exciting opportunities for the new students. Places are still available at the time of going to press: visit www.message.org.uk/genetik for info.
2. Please pray for the Fundraising team as they put the finishing touches to the Urban Hero Awards, taking place a week today. Pray that just the right people attend.
3. As word of Shine Your Light spreads online and at festivals over the summer, ask God that many tens of thousands of young people will get caught up in the vision to ‘make goodness fashionable and God famous.’
4. Please pray for the Eden Bus team as they take part in Horwich Carnival today. Ask God to bless the event and use it as good opportunity to witness to the young people of Horwich.
5. Pray for Eden Hattersley’s Girls’ Cell – that the leaders will be able to find the right balance of Bible teaching and fun that will help the girls grow in Christ.
6. Please pray for all our amazing Eden volunteers. Ask God to refresh them over the summer and give them a renewed passion for the young people they interact with every week.
7. Please pray for our excellent and hard-working Operations Team who keep our bands and theatre company on the road week after week.
8. Please pray for the Reflex-led discipleship group that meets on Thursdays in Forest Bank – that the guys who attend learn how to live independently as Jesus followers.
9. Tonight we host our Urban Hero Awards, celebrating some of our successes from the past year. Many VIPs will be present tonight – pray that God touches their hearts through the stories and that many will give generously.
10. Please pray for the ongoing work with female young offenders in HMP Styal: for good relations with staff, and for protection, wisdom and good health for the Reflex team.
11. Pray for Eden Hattersley’s Simon Davidson, today running an all-age service at one of our supporting churches. Pray it goes well and will bring more support in finance, prayer and volunteers.
12. Please pray for the many opportunities Andy Hawthorne will have to speak to people over the summer at festivals and conferences. Pray that God will anoint him and use his words to change lives.
13. Please pray for In Yer Face as they work on a new filming project and as they take time to write new material this month. Ask God for inspiration and creativity.
14. Pray for all the people that Eden Old Trafford works with who have made a commitment to Jesus recently. Pray for their continual growth and for more to turn back to him.
15. Please pray for the lads on HMP Thorn Cross’s Alpha course led by the Reflex team. Pray that their new knowledge translates into a personal relationship with Jesus.
16. Andy Hawthorne and family fly to the United States today to preach at three key churches in California and then have a well-earned holiday. Pray for a really blessed time for them all.
17. Please pray for many tens of thousands of young people to come across Shine Your Light campaign via Facebook and other social networks this summer.
18. Eden Old Trafford helps run ‘Prayer on the Walk’ on Sundays – a place for food and prayer as they seek to show people on their estate God’s power and reality. Pray that more people would see this.
19. Last year hundreds of people became regular givers to The Message. Please pray for many more this year and if you feel called to stand with us, no matter how much you can afford, please call Jo Nicholson on 0161 946 2300.
20. Pray for the Genetik students that have been accepted on to the 10-month course as they prepare to leave home and come to live in Manchester.
21. Please pray for the volunteers of the Brinnington Eden Bus Project. Ask God to bless the relationships between the volunteers and young people of Brinnington and a positive environment on the bus.
22. Pray for all the young people Eden Old Trafford are taking to New Wine later this month – that they would be open to God impacting their lives.
23. Andy Hawthorne has been part of a team of leaders who are re-launching the Hope initiative. Tonight 40,000 people gather for an all-night prayer meeting at the ExCel centre in London and the new Hope vision will be shared. Pray for many to catch the vision.
24. Please pray for God’s blessing to be on three new team members starting soon with Eden Eccles – Frieda, Jemma and Alex.
25. Please pray for all the young people who have become Christians through our work in and through schools this year. Ask God that the summer is a real time of discipleship for these young people.
26. Please continue to pray for Matthew Walls as he prepares to lead the new 10-month Genetik course and pray that God will show him where best to place the new students in houses and placements.
27. Thank God for many successful speaking engagements for Andy Hawthorne and others in churches over the last year. Pray for just the right opportunities with churches where our vision can be shared over the next year.
28. Please pray for the Eden Bus team as they prepare for a week at New Wine. Ask God to refresh and speak to the team and all the young people they will take with them.
29. Pray, for the Eden Hattersley young people who will be going to Soul Survivor in the next few days: that they will encounter God, that it will be life-changing and that more will find faith for the first time.
30. Thank God for our dedicated Finance team, who administer The Message’s income and outgoings. Pray especially for his blessing on them while key members are on maternity leave.
31. Today the Message team sets off for New Wine North where again this year we will host a venue. Please pray that this continues to be popular and that many people are stirred into action in response to the Eden vision.
