LZ7’s infectious mix of fun and faith hit a new level this week with the release of the video for This Little Light, the lead-off track from new album Gasoline.

The video sees the band bringing their pumping live show to Rose Bridge High School in Wigan. It opens with scenes of an orderly classroom detention descending into chaos when two ice cream vendors (frontmen Lindz and Jabz) pull into the school yard pumping out one very cool jingle.

But it’s not 99’s the pair are handing out – it’s glowing bulbs of light representing the inner light the Bible says shines out of Christians.

Tim Owen, executive producer and Head of Creative Development at The Message Trust described the idea behind the video as ‘the perfect concept. It puts what LZ7 and the other Message bands do in a nutshell, going into schools, telling people about Jesus and helping kids do the same.’

In the first few days of release, the video has seen over 10,000 downloads. That number is rapidly growing as word spreads on social network and filesharing sites like Facebook and Youtube.

The video was premiered at Hope Unleashed: The Big One at the Manchester Apollo, the culmination of a year of schools work which has seen over 2,000 young people make first-time commitments to Jesus. The night itself saw a capacity crowd of 3,500 young people from schools across Greater Manchester, with several hundred more responses to the gospel that night.
