Eden Bus to launch in Scotland

Published on September 22, 2014

Message Scotland is excited to announce that thanks to the generous support of the Stagecoach Group, within the coming months we will launch our very own Message Scotland Eden Bus programme.

We have been able to obtain a bus through Stagecoach and have secured funding from a generous Christian couple in England to transform it into a mobile youth centre. We now need to raise support for the ongoing annual running costs and recruit for the Eden Bus team.

We are incredibly excited about being able to have an Eden Bus to support youth work in Scotland. The Eden Bus has served communities all over the UK and functions as a mobile youth/community centre allowing Message staff and volunteers to interact and engage with numerous communities while at the same time providing young people in urban neighbourhoods with a resource where there is often nothing for the young people in that community.

Eden Bus partners with local organisations such as churches, housing associations, police or Eden teams to reach people where they are, in their own neighbourhoods. This allows an effective partnership empowering the community and ensuring longer lasting changes. The Eden Bus has a proven track record in reducing crime and anti-social behaviour. The Eden Bus also allows music and drama to be performed on a portable stage bringing the community together for live music, drama and a clear, relevant presentation of the gospel.
