Eden Rhydyfelin along with their partner church host a semi-regular bouncy castle day at the local community centre to reach out and connect with the community. These have been running for over a year and grow in popularity each time.
The most recent event was hosted on Easter Sunday. ‘We hadn’t had much time to advertise the event, but we hoped and prayed for the best’ says Heather Ryan (Eden Rhydyfelin team leader). For Easter, Heather and Jon decided to buy 27 Easter eggs in preparation for the children. ‘We thought 27 would be enough, how wrong we were! We had over 60 visitors of all ages meaning we didn’t have enough eggs for one each!’
At every bouncy castle day one of the church leaders share a short and relatable ‘God slot’. ‘Jon shared how God is everywhere, not just in the manger, on the cross or in the tomb, but is in fact all around us. Everybody stayed around to listen while having a drink and doughnut.’
‘We had great feedback from all those who attended with most asking when the next one was going to be. This was such an encouragement to us as a team and it’s great to know that we are doing a good thing.’
Thank God for the favour from the community centre in letting the team use their building for these events and pray for this favour to be continued. Please also pray for the Eden Rhydyfelin team that the connections made here continue into friendships and that these events will continue to grow in popularity.
