In March this year the Higher tour went to the Midlands and Eden Walsall had the opportunity to be a part of it.
Mission team BrightLine ran a great session on self-esteem at Walsall college with one of the teachers commenting on how positive it had been and how 100% of the students said they had learnt something new from the session – helping to improve their self-esteem.
The next day the Eden team took a group of young people that they had met through detached youth work to the Higher evangelistic gig.
Jem and Gav Hicks (Eden Walsall team leaders) shared…
‘Some of our young people who are usually very shy and self-conscious ran straight to the front and spent the whole evening dancing. Then at the end of the evening seven of the young people in our group said they wanted to follow Jesus! We are now continuing this amazing adventure together as we explore with the what it means to follow Jesus together at our weekly youth group.’
One of the girls at the gig said she was expecting the night to boring and just full of old hymns but in fact she had so much fun!
Please pray that God would protect these young people as they follow Jesus and find out knowing him is greater that they could ever imagine.
