LIFT is a termly youth event aimed at 11-18 year olds. These events are loud, fun, gospel-focused and loved by young people.
On Friday 8 February, we had our first LIFT event of the year. Around 280 young people attended the event. We had performances by hip-hop trio SoulBox and local rap artist Traxx, as well as a gospel talk from our new Wales Hub Leader, Mat Walls. We saw 27 young people choose to recommit their lives to God, and we six young people decided to follow Jesus for the first time.
‘We’ve been taking a small group of young of young people to the Lift events for the past 18 months’, says one local youth leader. ‘At each of these events, some of the young people have responded to a clear and relevant message that the band have put across. At the last Lift event, two of our youngest group members responded to the gospel message.’ One of these young people said ‘I loved the audience interaction. It inspired me to go to the next level of faith. I was amazed that so many young people my age were there and wanted to get closer to God.’c
Please pray for those who responded to the gospel for the first time, and those who made the decision to recommit at the event. Pray that they would grow strong in their faith and relationship with God.
