Cross Canada Cycle Challenge: Day 1

Today’s the day!  After months of training The Message Cross Canada Cycle Challenge team are about to start their 913km journey across the highs and lows of the Canadian Rockies.

Today they’ll be covering 142km from Peyto Lake to Blaeberry.  Along the way today their route will take them through part of the world-famous Icefields Parkway.

They’re doing this to raise at least £175,000 to support the work of The Message as we look to continue our work reaching some of the hardest-to-reach young people from across the globe.  This would enable us to:

  • Set up new Eden teams of urban missionaries who choose to live in some of the most deprived communities across the UK.
  • Build a new Message Bus – a mobile-youth centre that will travel to deprived neighbourhoods across the UK to provide support and set up new projects.
  • Further develop our prisons work and reintegration of ex-offenders by launching a new enterprise centre outside of Manchester

Could you support the team by sponsoring them? Any donation, no matter how big or small would make a huge difference.  To sponsor them head to the Canada Cycle Challenge donation page.

We’ll be posting regular updates here for you so that you can see how the team are doing. Or you can keep track of their progress on Faceback and Instagram @crosscanadachallenge
