Day 23 of the Advent of Stories from Redcar Community Grocery.
Kev was a regular visitor to the Redcar Community Grocery, but it was only earlier this year that he joined the allotment club and started to make friends with other Community Grocery members.
Since then, he’s joined the choir, the fishing club and Alpha! Through this wrap-around support, he’s grown deeper in his faith, and the change in him has been amazing.
“People used to avoid him because he was a challenging customer, but now he’s so polite and acts like a real gentleman” said Hannah, the Redcar Community Grocery manager.
Kev recently told the team “The way I used to behave wasn’t the real me. But now I’ve found family in the church and the grocery.’
Update: He recently started volunteering in the grocery as well!
