Message Buses are back on the road and bigger than ever before! Whilst Covid has meant the buses had to spend a few months in their garages, God’s been using the time to open new doors for mission, and now that we’ve got the green light, we’re ready to go!
Excitingly this includes launching a brand-new Message Bus for the Midlands in partnership with Together for Change. Kitted out with TVs, a PlayStation 4, Xboxes, a nail bar and more, the bus is already out across Coventry and Warwickshire and being used to tell young people about Jesus. ‘We always wanted to launch a Message Bus here in the Midlands and are so excited to do this with Together for Change,’ said Greg Cooper, West Midlands Hub Leader. ‘The opportunities it gives us to engage with young people and connect them with the local church, all whilst they’re having fun with their mates and hearing about Jesus, is unrivalled. I can’t wait to see what God’s going to do in young lives over the coming months and years’.
At the same time as launching a new bus, the other five buses have also been busy out on mission. In Scotland, three 10:10 projects are underway. 10:10 sees young people head on the buses for action-packed evenings before giving them the chance to be part of Youth Alpha courses that run on board. Elsewhere, the Wales and North West buses have been in communities as part of Love Where U Live. As litter was being cleared and gardens tidied, young people found a safe place to hang out with their mates on the bus and as they did this, they heard about Jesus from the teams.
Archie was one lad the team met. He had loads of questions about Jesus and wanted to hear all about him. The next day, he was back again and couldn’t wait to tell us that he’d given his life to Jesus! Now he’s going along to Youth Alpha and getting plugged into church.
Our dream is that, as bus mission heads to the next level, we’ll see the lives of countless young people transformed by Jesus.
