New Ways of Doing Mission

Whilst life has changed recently, our passion to make sure young people and communities hear about Jesus hasn’t. Lockdown has by no means stopped us from doing this! As the nation moved online, we’ve done the same making sure we don’t miss a single opportunity to share the gospel.

Message Live is one way we’re doing this. Our heart is twofold: to reach young people with the good news of Jesus, and to equip the body of Christ for mission. With challenging teaching and inspiring stories, Message Live is online every day from Monday – Friday with shows for everyone. Programmes include Mates on a Mission, Twin Tracks, Eden: The Walk, Higher Life, and Tuesday Teaching from Andy Hawthorne.

Connecting with young people is at the heart of our work. So every evening our bands take over with YouTube shows filled with fun, games, music and the gospel.

‘We’ve loved connecting with young people and youth groups online getting to have a laugh with them, as well as telling them more about Jesus and answering their questions on life and faith’, says Lucy Engels from BrightLine. ‘The openness and conversations we’ve had with teenagers have been phenomenal. Just the other day we had 150 people with little or no church connection telling us about times they’ve prayed, and how God changed the situations they were facing. We then got to tell them about the hope Jesus offers and had people asking us to pray for them and for them to be sent a Bible of their own. We’ve also seen young people respond to the gospel and they’re now fully plugged into online discipleship with their local churches. How exciting is this!’

Please pray that through Message Live thousands of young people will hear about the hope of Jesus, respond to this and get connected with discipleship sessions. Pray too that we, as the church, will all be fired up to share the gospel with our neighbours, communities and beyond.
