The Scattering
The Scattering is a week of mission for young people who want to put their faith into action! Running in the summer holidays in London, the North East of England and across Wales, young people are trained and equipped for mission and are then scattered in teams to partner with a local church and proclaim the gospel to that community.

What is The Scattering?
The Scattering is a residential event that runs in three stages over seven days: Equipping, Mission and Celebration.
Equipping weekend
To kick off the week, our young people gather together for prayer and teaching, to press into God and hear his voice before being sent out on mission.
This is all to get the young people ready for a week of mission, where they will be split into smaller teams and scattered across the region to partner with local churches to bring the gospel to their community.
Mission week
Mission is at the very heart of what The Scattering is all about. We send the young people in their teams to a host church to begin their week of mission. Here, they will sleep and eat for the week, serve the local community and church and share the good news of Jesus. Each team’s week will look slightly different but will share the same heart and vision to share the gospel.
Celebration
As the week comes to an end, all teams will gather together again to celebrate what God has done in and through the young people during the week. This is a time to look back on the week with gratitude and look forward on the weeks and months ahead and re-commission the young people to live a life on mission.

In order to run these weeks, we partner with local churches. It means we can reach local communities in an authentic way, and invite people to the partner church as we tell them about Jesus.
