Charge Days are all about equipping young people and churches to share Jesus. We caught up with some of our hubs to hear what’s been happening as young people have been stepping out on mission.
LONDON
On a recent Charge Day, one of the young people, John*, started the day feeling nervous. As he and his team took to the streets to pray and grab opportunities to share Jesus, they met Hassan*. Determined to overcome his nerves, John shared the gospel with Hassan and chatted about how grace and a personal relationship with God sets the Christian faith apart. John then stepped out of his comfort zone even more and prayed for Hassan (something he’s never done for a stranger before). Please pray that Hassan would feel stirred to continue finding out more about Jesus and that John would also keep feeling encouraged and bold in his faith.
TYNESIDE
Young people headed out as part of a Charge Day sharing the gospel with and praying for 26 people, many of whom they invited to church! One team got to chat with a group of men at a basketball court who had recently connected with the local youth pastor. It was a great opportunity to share more about faith, invite them along to church and build relationships.
TEESSIDE
As 17 young people took to the streets to share their faith, the team leaders were all deeply encouraged by how none of the teenagers let fear or rejection hold them back from sharing Jesus. The team ended up sharing the gospel with 25 people and praying for 40!
One group of young people felt prompted by God to go and speak to Simon* who was sitting on a bench. As they got chatting with him, and listened to what was going on in his life, they were able to pray with him and invite him to church. They gave him a Bible, and he started reading it straight away. As the team were walking back 10 minutes later, they saw Simon still reading! Join us in praying that Simon would continue to be impacted by God and want to come to church.
DERBY
Overcoming fear, the young people were determined to share Jesus with everyone they could. One young person initially froze when trying to speak to someone about Jesus and came away feeling upset. After being encouraged and supported by the rest of the team, she later returned so excited, having taken another step and successfully prayed for someone. It was a real turning point.
Charge Days are a powerful and practical opportunity for young people to grow in confidence, courage, and faith, and to take meaningful steps in sharing Jesus with others.
