No More Knives Tour - Schools - The Message
No More Knives in schools
No More Knives

The aim of the No More Knives tour is to inform, equip and empower your students with the skills and knowledge they need to say no to knives.

Lessons combine teaching students about the dangers and consequences of carrying a knife and knife crime with educating them on how they can be part of the solution, all whilst sharing the Christian message of hope. We also aim to signpost to venues where students can hand in their knives whether this is at a local police station or another venue (under the supervision of the local police force).

Each lesson, which is led by a representative of The Message Trust, includes music performances, video content, personal stories and presentations on knife crime from local Police representatives.

“That was the best external team and presentation I’ve seen delivered in a lesson in my 25 years of teaching.”

Liam Horrigan, Vice Principal, Manchester Academy

“The No More Knives Tour has really connected with the young people. It’s shown the benefits of using different ways to get the serious message of the dangers of carrying a knife across to them in the most effective way. Great partnership work!”

Nicola Hilton PCSO School Engagement Officer, Greater Manchester Police

To have the maximum impact we encourage schools to allow the programme to be delivered to every student in one day. This is done by each year group receiving their session in the hall in back-to-back lessons.

Following the tour, we aim to book a local venue to invite students to a concert where they will see more from the bands they have seen perform and hear from special guests.

Our team will include:

  • Presenter
  • Guest Speaker
  • Band (2 or 3 members)
  • Local police officer
  • Sound engineer
  • Local church youth leader
