‘No matter what happens, I know God is with me’

God is on the move. Hear three amazing stories of how God is changing lives of those in prison and ex-offenders.

Darren’s Story – London

In and out of prison, Darren was stuck in a cycle of reoffending. Describing his life as chaos, he couldn’t seem to break the bad habits and life kept repeating.

It wasn’t until he decided to fully commit his life to Jesus that things started to change for him. Darren applied to be a team member at Neal Street Espresso, our enterprise coffee house in Covent Garden, London, and there went from strength to strength from there as he grew not only in his barista and work skills and but in his faith too. Now you can’t stop him sharing his story and telling people about Jesus. He says, ‘No matter what happens, I know God is with me.’

Jake’s Story – South Wales

‘I recently caught up with Jake* who’s been out of prison for a year and living in a Christian supported housing project. God has been using him to share the good news of Jesus and lead others to Christ – and he’s seeing them get baptised! Along with his other housemate, they are starting a worshipping community in the house that’s all about creating a space to support others to grow in their faith too – how amazing’, said Owain, prisons worker.

Janet’s Story – East Midlands

Another of our prisons workers Abi runs a weekly prayer group for the women in the prison. A couple of weeks ago, she met Janet*. ‘After finishing the choir session she was part of, Janet decided to stay and join in the weekly prayer group that I was running. We got chatting and she shared how she felt like something was missing for her and how she wanted to believe in God but didn’t know how to take the next step. I was able to share the4points and the gospel with her, and Janet gave her life to Jesus’, said Abi. Do be praying for Janet as she grows in her faith and comes along to the groups Abi is running.
