Reaching Out This Christmas

We don’t want to miss one chance to tell people about Jesus this Christmas, so around the UK we’re holding festive outreach events, each boldly sharing the true meaning of Christmas with those who’ve come along. As these have kicked off over the past few days, we’ve already seen over 600 people respond to the gospel!

On Friday, OTC were part of the line-up at a special Illuminate gig organised by our friends LZ7 and Saintz. Here each of the bands performed their gospel-packed tracks and boldly proclaimed the good news of Jesus to young people. As they shared about the love and hope Jesus offers, 256 young people responded to the gospel!

Over in Netherton (Merseyside), the Community Grocery there held a carol service for 200 grocery members and their families packed full of interviews, activities, games, music and a gospel filled message of hope.

And that’s not all! The Message Community Grocery in Sharston, Manchester, hosted a Christmas Extravaganza over the weekend where 1,500 grocery members gathered together for a carol service, Santa’s grotto and received a free hamper gift packed full of festive treats. As the bands performed and Andy Hawthorne shared the real message of Christmas, 350 responded and gave their lives to Jesus!

One of these was 13 year old Evie who, along with her mum. Later she got chatting with the team about how excited she was about having a new life in Jesus saying, ‘I’ve always wanted to go to church and I can’t wait to go this Sunday!’

Lydia also responded the gospel at the Extravaganza. Afterwards, as she talked to one of our team members Jane, she told her how excited she was to start reading the Bible she’d been given and said ‘I feel so much lighter and I now have hope for the future!’ She’s already signed up to be part of the Alpha course being run at the Community Grocery and is planning to come along to church this week.

It’s amazing to see how God is transforming lives this Christmas and we have faith to see many more come to know him as we continue sharing his love.
