We had such an amazing Christmas, seeing the hope of Jesus break through and change whole families. Across the country, our Community Groceries ran Christmas Extravaganza events sharing the gospel with their members and handing out hundreds of hampers packed with everything a family needed for Christmas. Around the UK, 2,500 hampers were given away for free and off the back of the gospel events, we saw over 200 people respond to the good news of Jesus!
Three of these were a mum, dad and teenage son who, at one Christmas Extravaganza, each gave their lives to God and individually went to pray with the team, knowing that this decision they were making was going to be life changing.
Since then, they’ve come along to all the follow up discipleship events over Christmas and have been coming to church. At one of the events, they were desperate to find out more about how to read the Bible and have all signed up to go to a local Alpha course as a family to continue growing in their faith!
In London, Ilford Community Grocery hosted a Christmas party for their members with a bouncy castle, games, music and the gospel message. 200 people came along and each got to hear the real meaning of the Christmas, and six people responded and decided to give their lives to Jesus and are already getting plugged into church! And that’s not all. Over in Lincoln, one Community Grocery member came along to a Christmas event our partner church were running and when she stepped through the doors and was welcomed by the team, she immediately cried saying, ‘This is what I’ve been looking for. I feel so comfortable here and I can’t wait to come along to more services.’ How amazing!
The stories from across the UK are still pouring in as people start 2025 walking with Jesus. Please do be praying for the 200 people who gave their lives to Jesus over Christmas, that they’d keep growing in their faith and discovering more about Jesus.
