176 say ‘yes’ to Jesus and ‘no’ to knives

Last week, the No More Knives Tour was back on the road, this time in schools across Teesside where we met over 4,200 pupils!

Combining music with powerful stories and teaching, band OTC headed into four schools giving lessons and assemblies to equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need to say ‘no’ to knives and start to discover their full value and identity.

At each school, the team got chatting with the young people and as they did, the band invited them along to the end of week gig where the gospel was boldly shared. OTC got chatting to college student Georgia who opened up about how she’d been stabbed by a family member when she was younger. And as a result, she was struggling with her mental health. As they got chatting, Georgia said she was really impacted James’ testimony and wanted to find out more about how Jesus had helped transform his life. James got to share more with her and invite her to the gig where she could hear more about God.

On the Friday night, over 800 young people came along to hear amazing music as well as about the good news of Jesus. As young people found out about the hope and peace that Jesus offers, 176 young people responded to the gospel and the teams gave out over 250 Bible resource packs!

It’s amazing to see the impact of the tours as young people have their lives transformed by Jesus and are impacted to change their culture and say ‘no’ to knives. And off the back of this tour, The Cleveland Police have funded the No More Knives tour to come back into eight more schools across Teesside, local churches have seen more young people coming along to their youth groups and schools are booking our Respect ME teams to come and deliver truth-filled lessons around wellbeing, resilience, sex and relationships, mental health and more!
