As we see more young people wanting to share the gospel with those around them, our teams – both in the UK and in our international hubs – are running Charge Days. All about training and equipping young people in evangelism and then putting it all into practice, we’re hearing amazing stories of how God is using this young people through The Charge.
In the Netherlands, the team recently partnered with ‘Youth United’ to run a Charge Day resourcing 55 people aged 18-30 in their evangelism. After having some training in the morning, everyone took to the streets of Harderwijk to share the love of Jesus.
‘This can’t be a coincidence’
It was great to see so many people step out of their comfort zone and ask those they met for prayer.
One team asked a girl if they could pray for her. She said, ‘Wow, this can’t be a coincidence! My boyfriend is a Christian and I keep wondering if God could actually be real. The fact you’ve come up to me today to chat and offer to pray has been a confirmation for me.’ The team got to pray with her and invite her along to Alpha Youth so please be praying that God continues to work in her life.
Connection over coffee
The team from Youth United had a coffee cart and offered people they met free coffee. It was a great ice-breaker and opportunity to share more about what the team were doing on mission that day. One of the people the team met was Hugo*. After asking why the coffee was free, Willem was able to share that he and the team were Christians. Willem said, ‘We had such a beautiful, open conversation. I was about to explain about grace and how we can’t earn God’s love for us and Hugo seemed to be really impacted by this. I offered to pray and he accepted and then afterwards he told me that this conversation wasn’t random. I invited him to Alpha and I’m praying he comes along.’
As well as having great conversations like this, the team saw two people give their lives to Jesus! Please do be praying for all those the team met, that they’d continue to be impacted by the conversations and want to find out more about Jesus.
