As Advance continues to grow and expand across the globe, we caught up with Killian, our Advance Ambassador in Germany, to hear some of what God’s been doing through his Advance Group.
‘I love being involved in full-time ministry with The Message where I get to encourage people in their evangelism, but by far the most exciting thing I’m getting involved in is Advance in Germany.
‘On a personal level, my Advance Group has been there encouraging me to share my faith in day-to-day conversations, and to use every opportunity to tell people about Jesus.
‘Recently after finishing some work, I went for a walk to clear my head and to listen to music, but I’d only got around the corner when I felt God encouraging me to talk to a woman who had started shouting down the street. Initially, I was nervous about talking to a stranger, but we ended up having a long conversation about life, death, hope, faith and the meaning and purpose we can find in Jesus. I was able to share the gospel with her, and even though she didn’t accept Jesus into her life there and then, her face lit up and she said the conversation was an encouragement to her that she’d go away and think about.
‘Looking back, I know it’s only because of the encouragement my Advance Group have given me to share my faith that I was brave enough to step out and grab this opportunity.
‘And it’s not just me that’s growing thanks to Advance.
‘Maria goes along to another Advance Group and was sharing with me that she’d been praying to have the boldness she needs to share the gospel with those around her and invite people to respond to it. Just two weeks later, Maria was invited to speak at a local church and on her way there, she felt the Holy Spirit encourage her to finish her talk by inviting people to respond to the gospel. As she did this, 20 people responded and accepted Jesus into their lives! She was so encouraged and she can’t wait to step out in faith for him again.
‘Another guy in our group, Max, recently prayed that he’d be able to share the good news of Jesus with the young people he was working with. Soon after, he was playing a board game with a 12-year-old from his church youth group and felt God encourage him to ask the lad whether he’d heard about Jesus before. This was a springboard for Max to share the gospel with the lad who accepted Jesus into his life and is now getting plugged into discipleship groups in church.
‘God is doing so much with young people. Through Advance, we’ve been able to support local youth groups and help them equip their young people to head out on mission too. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do our Advance Groups across Germany next!’
