Message Brazil recently headed into state schools in Rio to share the hope and peace of Jesus through lessons and music. And the schools they went to were tough places, with many of the students known for being violent. Yet, off the back of the tour, messages are pouring in about how there’s been a big shift in the young people.
One mum got in touch with hub leader Daniel saying, ‘You went into my daughter’s school, a place where there are normally two or three big fights that happen each day. It can be pretty violent, but since you came in with the schools tour two weeks ago, there’s only been one fight! You and the team have really changed the atmosphere in the school. There’s a real difference!’ How amazing.
After seeing this change, one of the schools is inviting the partner church in to lead some workshops off the back of the tour that will provide a space for young people to ask more questions about faith, so please do be praying for these. The school directors have also been so overwhelmed by the positive response from the students and the change in the school environment off the back of the tour that they’ve asked the team to come back for more tours!
Every young person the team met in school on the tour was invited along to an evangelistic gig to hear more music as well as the gospel. As Daniel shared about the love of Jesus and what he did for us on the cross, over 110 young people responded and accepted Jesus into their lives. Many of these young people came along to church and even brought family members along with them. One mum who came along with her child shared how she’d walked away from Jesus 12 years ago, but at church that day she’d decided to rededicate her life to Jesus!
It’s incredible to continue seeing the impact of this tour and we’re blown away by all that God is doing and we can’t wait to see what’s next for Message Brazil!
