For Message South Africa, the last few weeks have been absolutely jam-packed with mission! From reaching young people in schools with the love of Jesus to running outreach projects in disadvantaged communities, they met hundreds of people and got to share how loved each of them is by Jesus.
To help combat the rise of young people getting involved in gangsterism, Message South Africa have community hubs across the nation that provide safe places for them to hang out, access educational support, take part in sports, and discover more about Jesus. In Johannesburg, community hub team member Brandon has just started a fitness programme for young lads in the area. As the boys come along each morning to play sports, they also hear about the gospel and six of the young people have made decisions to follow Jesus and are coming along to the youth group at the partner church!
The community hubs have also been busy running three holiday clubs in Parkwood (Cape Town), Citrusdal (Cape Town) and in Jozi East (Gauteng). Between the teams, they’ve seen 287 young people coming along to worship, play games, hang out with their mates and dive into the themes ‘Holding On To Hope’ and ‘One Way Jesus’.
And that’s not all! Creative mission team KineticIV have been visiting youth groups across Cape Town sharing the gospel through music as well as their personal testimonies of how Jesus has moved in their lives. At the same time, they’ve also been helping Message South Africa run Genetik Sessions School Day Camps packed with vocal workshops, dance and rap sessions for 40 young people. As each has come along to learn new skills, they’ve heard inspiring messages about how loved and valued they are by Jesus.
It’s amazing to see everything that’s been happening. Please pray for all the young people who Message South Africa have met recently, that they would continue wanting to grow in their faith. Find out more about what the team are up to by following them on social media here.
