‘I have value to God’

We’ve been getting to know one young person Daisy at a youth group we run ever since she saw a social media video advertising Festival Manchester in the summer. When she saw the video, she immediately started thinking more about faith and the big questions of life so decided to go along to the festival weekend. There, she heard the gospel boldly shared from the stage, was impacted by the love of Jesus and recommitted her life to God there and then. Through the follow-up after the festival, Daisy got plugged into a youth group here at The Message and she’s been going from strength to strength in her faith.

One Monday, she got chatting with youth leader Lauren who is also on our Respect ME schools team and was in Daisy’s school giving a lesson a couple of weeks before. Daisy said, ‘I remember something that you said to me in school: ‘Why fit in, when you were born to stand out?’ and that really stuck with me. Since then, it’s encouraged me to stand out and to be who I am meant to be in God’s eyes.

‘I’ve been experiencing a lot of peer pressure from people at school to do things I don’t want to, and when I feel tempted to give in, I remember what you said and that I have worth and value to God. I really want you to come back into my school with Respect ME again so I’m going to chat to my teachers and ask!’

As Daisy grows in her faith, she’s asked Lauren and the rest of the team if they can do a Bible study together so she can learn more about God – how amazing!
