As we reach out with the good news of Jesus in word and action, lives and communities are being transformed.

After more than 30 years of mission, we’ve seen God do more than we could ask or imagine. Here’s just a snapshot of what’s been happening.

Prisons and enterprise

Working with hundreds of men, women and young people in prisons across the country, our team are able to share the hope and peace of Jesus in workshops, courses, music sessions, Bible studies and so much more, as well as support prison leavers as they settle back into society. One of these is Rhys.

The Message first met Rhys when he was in prison and had hit rock bottom. As Owain got to know him, he told him about the love and hope Jesus offered him. Since giving his life to God, Rhys hasn’t looked back and now shares his story with others, even in the prison he was once in. ‘My story is truly one where I’ve gone from death to life. I know that God has saved me, and it’s been the biggest thing that’s ever happened in my life.’ This is his story:

Reaching young people

Our creative mission bands and schools team head into secondary schools across the country and share truth-packed sessions with over 100,000 young people a year. From Respect ME PSHE lessons to tours all about equipping young people to say ‘no’ to knife crime, we’re seeing thousands of young people make positive decisions and coming to know Jesus.

‘I’ve learnt that you need to have the right influence in life and Jesus is the best influence on the way we live’, said one 16-year-old after a ‘The Ultimate Influencer’ session run by our team.

Equipping and training

We love seeing people empowered and resourced to share their faith. Through Advance small mentoring groups, we’re equipping people all over the world in their everyday evangelism and in Manchester, we’re even have a bespoke Message School of Evangelism to train men and women to confidently share the gospel. We’re also seeing young people step up and out sharing their faith with their mates in school as well as strangers in the street through The Charge.

108 Nations around the world have launched Advance Groups.

1250 People prayed for as young people took part in The Scattering mission.

‘The gospel is for absolutely everyone’, said one of 150 young people who got involved in Message Brazil’s evangelism training.

Community transformation

We know the power of the gospel is able to change not just individual’s lives but also whole neighbourhoods. Through sending urban missionaries to live long-term in some of the nation’s most under-served communities, we’re seeing families, streets and towns changed by Jesus’ love.

In November, Eden Kensington (Liverpool) served at a local fireworks night handing out hot chocolate to families who came along and getting to know those in their community. At the event, they met a single mum and her six boys and invited them all along to church. Since then, they’ve been coming to home group and church services, have accepted Jesus into their lives and all want to get baptised. The boys have also been enjoying reading the Bible and have been going through the Psalms with the Eden team.

‘There is a real hunger for hope in this community. It’s not that people have rejected faith here, it’s just no one has shared it with them and this is what we’re going to do through Eden’, said one of the team in Senghenydd (Caerphilly).

Keeping families fed

We’re celebrating five years of the Community Groceries with more than 30 stores now in our network across the country, and every week we’re hearing stories of members responding to the gospel and giving their lives to Jesus. One of these is Bobby:
