Message Brazil have been taking mission up a gear. We caught up with the team to see what some of their highlights from the last couple of months have been.
Revival Nightz
Passionate about seeing generations of young people rise up in faith and evangelism, Message Brazil have been gathering young people from different churches, denominations and regions to pray for their cities and nation at REVIVAL NIGHTZ. They recently gathered in both São Paulo and Paraná for two unforgettable nights. In São Paulo, 203 young people came together to seek God and pray together for their city, schools, universities, and their nation, and in Paranà, 230 young people came along! It’s so exciting to see young people grow in their faith and prayer life.
TeenStreet Brasil
Message Brazil were able to take part in TeenStreet Discovery in Maringá where over 150 teenagers from all over Brazil came together to grow in evangelism. Through training sessions, putting what they’ve been learning about into action, and intimate moments of prayer, these young people were empowered to make mission and evangelism a lifestyle.
Three testimonies that really impacted the team were:
- At the end of one of the sessions, a young girl came to chat to the team and said that God had confirmed the calling on her life as an evangelist and she asked them to pray for her so she would not be afraid but step into what God was asking her to do.
- Another young girl in the same session felt God’s confirmation to start a discipleship group during her school break to support her friends and peers in their faith, and she’s excited to get started.
- On the last day of training, two deaf young boys attended the session. They learned to share the gospel through the4points and wanted to demonstrate it in sign language to all the young people in the room. This impacted them and gave them even more courage to understand that the gospel is for everyone, and they can do it too!
Mission with Audacious Church
The team also had the joy of welcoming a group from Audacious Church, Manchester, to partner with Eden Santa Marta (Rio de Janeiro).
The week was filled with outreach activities including deep cleaning, joining in with small groups, going into the public school and talking to the kids about identity, evangelising on the streets, and praying with the team and church in Eden Santa Marta. And the mission week ended with a powerful moment where three team members from the UK were baptised!
One member of the team from Audacious mentioned how she was a little worried about safety whilst out on mission in the favelas after hearing some stories but was trusting Jesus. However the moment she met the team from Santa Marta, she felt so much peace. On one of the days, the team did a prayer walk around the community and this lady ended up praying for one of the leaders of the cartel and praying for lots of men who were carrying guns, but she had no fear! The love of God was all she could feel. It was amazing to see God move through the team and those they met.
