Message Germany recently had the opportunity to head into 10 schools in just five days, alongside their friends Lorenzo Di Martino and KickOff DJs, sharing God’s hope and love with the students and inviting them along to the Exodus Festival – a huge Christian festival where young people could hear more about the gospel.
In one school, after performing music at a concert during a break, Lorenzo and his team were spontaneously invited to go into a class to run a lesson. As Lorenzo led the last minute workshop, he shared with the students how they can hear God’s voice in their lives, and saw this really impact the teenagers there.
At another school, a teacher felt prompted share his own story of what God has done in his own life during a schoolyard concert the team ran. As he did this, you could have heard a pin drop as the students listened. The teacher shared how God had saved him twice from death, and yet he still didn’t realise that God was the one looking out for him. It was only when he met his wife and they had four children that he recognised God’s love for him. With tears in his eyes, he shared about Jesus’ love with the students and prayed for them, and some of the students began to cry and pray for each other!
Off the back of the schools lessons and running youth nights with the local church, where every young person was invited to the Exodus Festival, the team saw 300 young people from the schools mission come along – making up half the total number of young people at the festival!
At the festival, bands, including Message Germany’s NGHTNDAY performed gospel-filled tracks, shared their testimonies and told everyone about the love and hope Jesus offers. During the response time, over 200 young people decided to give their lives to God for the first time or to recommit themselves! Wow!
One of these people was a young girl who the team had met earlier in the summer! She came up to band member Jacob and asked NGHTNDAY to pray for her. After doing this, Jacob gave her a Bible and invited her along to church so she could get plugged into discipleship too. She left that night totally transformed and full of joy!
It was amazing to see so many young people impacted by God’s love and wanting to follow him. Do be praying that those who responded to the gospel at the festival would continue coming along to church and growing more in their faith.
