Message School of Evangelism – Life and Fees

Campus

MSE is part of the award winning Christian charity The Message Trust, based in Manchester, UK.

The Message Trust is a worldwide movement passionately sharing the love of Jesus Christ in words and actions with the hardest-to-reach young people and communities.

MSE (previously gap year program ‘Message Academy’) is based at The Message’s HQ in Manchester and much of the life of the school is interwoven with the work of the charity, including Community Groceries, Eden, prisons work and schools outreach.

Onsite there is a café, music studios, the Manchester House Of Prayer (MHOP) and our meeting room where we gather to pray and worship every morning with staff from The Message.

Accommodation

Wythenshawe is the area of Manchester where you’ll live, alongside our urban missionary movement Eden. Here as you live you will be missional in the local area, learning what it looks like to reach people with the good news of Jesus right where you’re living. You’ll live with other MSE students and all accommodation is accessible to The Message campus either by walking or on the bus.

Church

Being an active part of a local church is an essential part of MSE. During the year you’ll be placed with the church that meets at The Message campus called Message Community Church (MCC). The church is an exciting place to be where people from the local community of Wythenshawe are regularly giving their lives to Christ and learning what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

‘Seeing young people impacted through our mission placements was a highlight. I saw them step into their own gifts and begin to shine as they went further in their discipleship journey.’

Fees

The cost of MSE is £3,000 for the year. This covers your course fees including all classes, placements and all of your accommodation costs and bills (e.g. gas, electricity, wifi etc). A £200 non-refundable deposit is required once you are accepted onto the course. The full balance is due in the September you start.

You’ll also need a recommended personal allowance of around £250 a month. This is to cover your food and travel costs. We will help you with fundraising and encourage you to find personal monthly supporters to help you cover the costs. Don’t feel overwhelmed by this financial challenge – please talk to us and we can journey with you through different stages of fundraising and finances.
