Today we’re celebrating one year since we launched Ragworth Community Grocery – and what a year it’s been!
With over 1280 members keeping their families fed through the store, it’s been amazing to be a part of all God’s doing in Ragworth. And as members do their £3 shop and access the full range of wrap around support and courses available, they’re hearing the gospel, responding to it and having their lives transformed by God!
One of those members is Christine who we met in store a couple of months ago. When she first came in to sign up for her £5 membership, she’d hit rock bottom and was feeling very low. As the team got to know her, they were able to share the love and hope Jesus offers and Christine wanted to know more. She started going along to the partner church and there she was overwhelmed by God’s love for her and gave her life to him. Ever since she’s had a big smile on her face.
And it’s not just our members who’re having their lives transformed by God. In June, Pete joined the team volunteering in every spare moment he had to help support those who needed it most in his community. In November, he started on the Government’s Kickstarter scheme at the Community Grocery and has been growing from strength to strength and has loved being part of the prayer time each day in the grocery. And just last week, Pete came along to church and accepted Jesus into his life!
