Today we’ve launched our 11th Community Grocery in Telford in partnership with All Nations Church – and it’s been an amazing day with over 160 members signing up in one day!
As we got to know people, signed them up for memberships and courses, and filled their baskets with food, we’ve already seen how God’s been moving in people’s lives.
One of the new members is Sara who connected with All Nations Church during lockdown when they were delivering food parcels. As the team got to know Sara and her son Ashley, they told her about Jesus and how much he loved them. Ashley was instantly interested and wanted to find out more about God and go along to church when the services started back up.
Although Sara was hesitant as she was exploring other faiths, Ashley’s eagerness to go encouraged her to go along to church too. Once there, she heard the gospel and immediately wanted to give her life to Jesus! Since then, she’s been regularly going to the church and is getting plugged into all parts of church life. It’s through this that Sara heard about the new Community Grocery.
Not only was Sara desperate to become a member of the grocery to lower the cost of her own weekly shop but she wanted to get alongside other families in need, showing them the love of Jesus. So, despite struggling with anxiety, Sara has started volunteering at the grocery and was there right at the heart of all the action on today’s opening day!
