Last Friday, Message Wales, in partnership with local churches, held another amazing Youth Nights event – a termly worship event for young people across South Wales – where over 285 young people from churches across Cardiff came together to press into worship and passionately praise God.
All focused on the theme of prayer, the evening started with young people sharing their experiences of prayer to encourage and equip one another by.
There were prayer stations set up around the room and at one, some of the young people offered to pray for others, and it was great to see them step out in faith to pray for one another.
As part of the evening, one of the leaders shared that the most important prayer any of us can pray is the one where we ask Jesus into our lives. As he shared about the hope and peace Jesus offers each one of us, 26 young people responded to the gospel and are already being plugged into discipleship in local churches.
For one young person in particular, Youth Nights have been especially influential in her faith journey. At the first event in September, Amy heard the gospel, and although she didn’t feel ready to respond there and then, she told her youth worker afterwards that she was really interested in giving her life to Jesus and that she had gone forward for prayer for healing.
Then at last week’s Youth Nights event, Amy heard the gospel again and this time chose to respond, immediately got a Bible, and is continuing to be discipled in her youth group.
It was phenomenal night where young people from across the region passionately worshipped Jesus, stepped out, prayed in new ways, responded to the gospel, and showing that the faith of this generation is very much alive. And we’re going again in May!
