Life-changing decisions - The Message
31 Jan 2023

The No More Knives tour has just been in Wythenshawe and Sale East (North West) and what a week it was!

As our teams went into schools with their power-packed lessons and gospel-filled tracks, they not only saw many young people say ‘no’ to carrying a knife but over 300 young people came along to the end-of-week gig, where they heard about the good news of Jesus and 146 responded to the gospel! And they’re already getting plugged into discipleship with local churches. How incredible!

We caught up with Mo who is part of No More Knives to hear more about what God has been doing.

‘Since I launched the first No More Knives Tour in Hull a few years ago, we’ve reached thousands of pupils in hundreds of schools with our message. Before each schools day, we pray and invite God into the lesson to do what he wants to do, and this latest tour has been special for me because there’s been such a powerful atmosphere of God. And the lessons have not only impacted the young people, but also the teachers in the room too.

‘My favourite day was when a headteacher came up to us at the end to tell us how much of a life-changing impact the lessons had on one group of lads. He shared that a couple of lads had arranged with boys from another school to meet in the evening for a fight! However, one of the boys had been in our No More Knives session that morning, heard about the impact that carrying a knife can have and how there is always a choice to make a better decision.

‘So straight after the session, the boy went to this headteacher, shared everything that had been going on and asked for help to resolve the situation in a positive way. The headteacher was able to get him and his friends home safely and the fight was avoided. Isn’t that amazing! What’s even better, is that this lad and his mates came along to the Friday gig, heard the gospel and all responded! They’re now getting plugged into the local church and discipleship.

‘What a privilege it is to be part of the team not only helping young people make positive decisions but also hear about Jesus!’

And it’s not stopping there. Off the back of the schools week, bookings are already coming in to the team to get Respect ME lessons into these schools and we’re excited to see how God will continue to transform lives.
