Young lives transformed - The Message
08 Feb 2022

OTC have just come back from a week of schools mission in Lincoln where they met over two thousand young people and ended the week with a high-energy gig where over 350 of them heard the gospel boldly proclaimed.

Over the week, OTC headed into four schools performing their gospel-packed music for students as well as running lessons on wellbeing, mental-health and self-worth that had the love and hope of Jesus at their heart. After one session, one girl came up to Gina from OTC and shared how Gina’s testimony had struck home with her as she’d been struggling with similar things recently. Gina then got to pray with her, tell her how loved she was by God and how she was created with purpose.

On another day, the band were running a lesson on mental-health and after the lesson, some of the students shared that they’d learnt that ‘they were more valuable than their mistakes’, that ‘their past didn’t define them’ and now they know support is out there and they can ‘never give up’.

The week culminated in an end of week gig on Friday night. Over 350 young people packed into the building for a night of epic music and they heard the gospel boldly shared. When Gina and James shared about the love and hope of Jesus, 54 young people responded to the gospel!

One of the lads who’d come along, shouted to band member James on stage ‘I’ve just accepted Jesus into my life and become a Christian!’ His mate also gave his life to Jesus at the gig and his grandma shared with OTC that she’d been praying for him to become a Christian for years!

These are only a handful of the stories coming off the back of the mission, so do be praying for our bands as they continue sharing the good news of Jesus and that we’d see many more young people be transformed by the love and hope of Jesus.
