57 say ‘yes’ to Jesus

Since its launch four years ago, we’ve run 30 No More Knives tours and met over 150,000 young people in schools. Our latest tour was in Preston where mission bands OTC and NXT CHAPTR took their power-packed lessons to over 2,600 students, encouraging them to make positive decisions and say ‘no’ to knives.

At the end of one lesson, student Ollie came up to chat to team member Ty. He shared that he was a Christian but had struggled most of his life to pursue his faith. Ollie told Ty that he’d started to read his Bible again and that he was really encouraged by the bands being in his school, boldly sharing their faith and pointing his classmates to Jesus too! Ty invited him to the end-of-week gig, and Ollie came, heard the gospel again and decided to recommit his life to God. He’s even been put in touch with local youth groups as he continues to grow in his faith.

Another young person who connected with the team that week was Emma. Emma had been scrolling on her social media the week before and heard NXT CHAPTR’s song, Sweet Salvation. She didn’t know the band when she heard the song but then NXT CHAPTR came into her school! As Emma chatted with band member Evy at the end of the lesson, she was saying how excited she was to hear the song live in her classroom and that she was going to the LIFT gig to hear it again. At the gig, Emma got to hear the gospel boldly shared, and responded, taking a Bible home to find out more about Jesus!

As well as Ollie and Emma, 55 others responded to the gospel that night including seven young people who came along with one of our church partners, gave their lives to Jesus and left saying that was the best youth trip they’d had!
