There Is Hope - The Message

Last week, Message Germany ran their Hope Camp in partnership with the local church and partner organisations, and what a week it was as young people got stuck into dance, music production and drum workshops.

Every day, 50 young people came along from toughest estates around the local area, and as they threw themselves into the sessions, they got to hear how loved they are by Jesus too.

Two girls that the team got to know were Lina and Sofia. The team first met them when Message Germany were in school with the Message School of Evangelism students on schools mission recently. As they shared gospel-packed lessons, the teams invited the young people along to Hope Camp, and Lina and Sofia were excited to come along.

At Hope Camp, they got stuck in with the music production sessions. Over the week, their confidence grew and they wrote a song together, which they performed at the end-of-week showcase. After their performance, they gave the Message Germany team a gift saying, ‘Thank you for this week, it’s been life-changing and the best time for us!’ Since the camp, Lina and Sofia have loved listening to Message Germany’s hope-filled podcast, Und Hopp, and are desperate to get more involved in youth events in the future and hear more about God.

Another young person the team got to know during Hope Camp was Alice. Alice shared with the team that she’d been self-harming and felt really broken since her dad passed away by suicide, and that her mum had turned to drugs to cope. As they listened, the team were able to share with her how loved she was by Jesus, pray with her, and connect her in with organisations who can help her. They also got to plug her into discipleship where she can find out more about God. At the end of the week, she had more hope for the future and the team are continuing to journey with her.

And it’s not stopping for Message Germany with the team about to start another week of schools mission in Rügen. Do be praying for them as they share the gospel with even more young people this week.
