North East
Here in the North East, The Message is reaching young people with the hope of Jesus and partners with local churches to support Eden teams and launch Community Groceries in the areas that need them the most.
We have Eden teams in Byker (Newcastle), Hexham, Ragworth (Stockton), Redcar, and South Bank (Middlesbrough), each bringing the love of Jesus into neighbourhoods by living and serving there for the long-term, and we have Community Groceries in Redcar, Middlesbrough, Darlington, Ragworth, Hartlepool, Hexham and South Bank helping to keep families fed and provide wrap-around support in partnership with local churches.
Over 11,000 young people across the Tees Valley have discovered more about their true value and identity as our Respect ME team have gone into school breaking down the lies the media tells them about themselves, and equipping them to be the best they can be. And our creative mission teams have met 15,000 young people on the No More Knives school tour equipping young people to say ‘no’ to knife crime. This work complements our other youth engagement projects including our sports ministry.
Across Tyneside, Wearside, the Tees Valley, County Durham and Northumberland we’re partnering with churches and ministries, like Junction 42 and Three13, to see the young people and ex-offenders across the area reached with the gospel and lives transformed.
This year there is so much happening across the North East. Find out about what’s happening below. We’d love to tell you more about what we can do and look at how we could work with you and your church. Interested? Get in touch by dropping us an email northeast@message.org.uk

Youth conference
Our team recently partnered with local church leaders to run our Youth Conference where over 130 young people came along for prayer, teaching and mission. The highlight of the event was when our Advance Youth took to the stage and shared stories and testimonies of how God used them on mission to share their faith with others. And we can’t wait to go again.
