Going all out for Jesus - The Message

Our schools teams have been running No More Knives tours across the country, heading into schools with lessons all about encouraging and equipping young people to say ‘no’ to carrying knives and to being involved in knife crime. As they did this, they got to share Jesus-centred truths with hundreds of young people.

Glasgow

On one of the days, NXT CHAPTR band members Jacob and Ty went outside to get some air after a lesson and got talking with a student called Kieran*. As they were talking, the topic shifted to faith and Jacob and Ty were asking whether Kieran had any faith. ‘I do have a bit of a faith but I’ve been struggling with people at school who are judging me for it’, he told them.

As they continued chatting, the topic shifted to where we go to after dying and Jacob and Ty were able to share about what Christians believe about heaven and what Jesus did for us. They gave Kieran a free ticket to the end of week evangelistic gig where he came along and responded again to the gospel, deciding to go all out for Jesus!

Two of the young people who said ‘yes’ to Jesus at this gig have just connected in with the Christian Union group in their high school to find out more about faith, and another young person who also responded at the gig has been coming along to church for the first time and is really enjoying it! We loved partnering with some brilliant churches across Glasgow who supported the tour in prayer, finances and volunteers, and who chatted to the young people who responded to the gospel at the event and invited them along to local discipleships groups.

Sheffield

It was great to see how well the No More Knives lessons were received in Sheffield! One Year 9 student told us, ‘Because of what you’ve just said, I’m going to change the way I’m going’!

Each student was invited to a LIFT gig to hear music from the bands and the gospel. 141 came along and 74 people responded to the gospel, taking Bibles home with them – and one of their parents got chatting with the team and is excited to come along to church!
